Adobe Flash Player for Firefox on Kubuntu

The first install is a new browser. Konqueror isn't for me, I'm a Firefox person. Surfing on to YouTube I notice that I have to install Adobe Flash Player for the videos to play.

Instead of installing a package suggested by the Adobe site I search web wide for a to me more simple way and came across this solution which worked like a charm:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install flashplugin64-installer

Feeling like a Kubuntu newbie again, only difference is I now know what to search for. Feeling obligated to rediscover just how to install packages.

The Fresh Install

So a fresh install of Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx revealed a whole lot to somebody who has been using Windows Seven since Kubuntu Gutsy. Loving the development. First impression is that it appears complete. Many improvements have been made and it's quite impressive.

The new menu is fantastic, no need to install a replacement. In the past I used Tasty Menu.

Lucid Lynx is super fast and smooth, it runs flawless.

I'm in to micro blogging so naturally I'm liking the desktop integrated feature.

Always been a faithful fan of Amarok. Even searched for ways to run it on Windows. The user interface is beautiful and even Amarok is super fast.

It is going to be a pleasure to discover Kubuntu's new version Lucid Lynx.
